This month, our journey with the “Empowering Deaf & PWDs: From Struggle to Stability” project has been filled with inspiring stories of resilience and determination. Every day, we witness how access to opportunities and the right support system can transform lives that were once overshadowed by barriers of silence, stigma, and limited resources.
One of the most heart-touching moments came from Ayesha, a young woman with hearing impairment who joined our vocational training sessions three months ago. When she first arrived, her confidence was low and she felt excluded from the world around her. Today, she proudly communicates in sign language, creates beautiful handmade crafts, and even assists new participants by guiding them during workshops. For her, empowerment is no longer just a word—it is a lived reality.
Similarly, Imran, a person with physical disability, shared how the training gave him a chance to earn an income for the first time in his life. He said, “I always thought my disability would define my future. Now, I feel I have a purpose and the strength to contribute to my family.” Stories like Imran’s remind us why this project exists—to shift lives from struggle to stability.
In the past quarter, we have:
Trained 45 participants (Deaf and PWDs) in skills such as tailoring, IT basics, and small business management.
Conducted community awareness sessions to reduce stigma and promote inclusion.
Partnered with local businesses to create internship pathways for our trainees.
But beyond numbers, the true progress lies in the smiles, confidence, and hope we see in our participants. Families who once worried about their children’s future now proudly celebrate their achievements. Communities that often overlooked PWDs are beginning to see them as capable contributors.
We also acknowledge the challenges: accessibility barriers, limited job placements, and the need for more specialized trainers. Yet, each challenge motivates us to innovate and strengthen our program further.
Looking ahead, we are preparing to launch a mentorship initiative, where successful graduates will mentor new participants. This peer-to-peer model will build a stronger, more sustainable support system within the Deaf and PWD community.
This journey is only possible because of your continued support. Each donation, no matter how small, has played a role in changing lives. On behalf of our participants, we thank you for walking with us on this path from struggle to stability.
Together, we are proving that disability is not inability—it is simply a different ability that deserves recognition, respect, and opportunity.
With gratitude,
