Relief International provides much-needed services to some of the hardest-to-reach Afghan communities in Iran. Our work focuses on increasing access to healthcare and education across the country.
Since the beginning of 2023, RI has provided new medical equipment and supplies to primary healthcare centers in Sistan, and Baluchestan areas, provided more than 240 families with hygiene kits, and supplied vitamin and mineral supplements to breastfeeding women and children under two.
In Education, RI has established 10 new learning spaces in schools in Khorasan Razavi, Sistan and Baluchistan. We have conducted remedial classes for primary and secondary students; more than 1,320 students are participating in remedial classes in more than 60 schools in 6 provinces.
We have further constructed and rehabilitated latrines and water stations in 9 schools. Moreover, RI has also trained more than 100 teachers and educational staff from the six provinces on Education in Emergencies and Inclusive Education.
