In this Covid-19 period, GESL has maintained our programming & support of girls. Through our SHE series (Staying Safe, Healthy, & Empowered), we've been able to maintain our girls' learning & skill development through videos/podcasts/posters. Our IGNITE E-learning Series has held virtual classes for girls throughout the West African region. Through donations, we've provided emergency support to girls & families. Our passion is keeping our girls safe,& we hope you'll help us continue our mission!
The 2020 landscape has been one that most could not prepare for. Covid-19 has left communities worldwide in shock, & youth aren't able to attend school physically or visit friends safely. Furthermore, orgs such as GESL which work yr-round with girls have had challenges sustaining their in-person programming. GESL has managed to stay engaged with our girls & their families through our SHE series, IGNITE E-learning series, and emergency assistance for families and girls' educational needs.
Our SHE advocacy series maintains our girls' learning & skill development surrounding our themes through animated videos, podcasts, & posters. Our IGNITE E-Learning series has held virtual classes for girls throughout West Africa, allowing us to sustain our core programmatic areas. Through donations, we've provided emergency assistance to our girls & their families & educational needs. All of these ensure that our girls' crucial learning can continue and that they have support during this time.
Maintaining our programming allows our girls to continue growing and learning despite this challenging time. Your donations towards their educational efforts also support them in their continued growth. We are a feminist-based organization in Sierra Leone that nurtures and enhances the leadership skills of young girls to become effective advocates and social change agents in their communities, and through our 2020 efforts we believe that we have and will continue to do just that.
