BBS supports Fora: Network for Change and their work to place young women at the centre of decision-making processes. Their signature Global Summit returns in 2022 and will bring together 30 delegates to build their advocacy skills, grow their confidence as advocates, and build networks in order to advance gender equality and women's leadership in their home countries. Through the Summit, Delegates will be prepared to advocate in local, national and international decision-making spaces.
Challenging the status quo requires that young women are given the tools and networks to step into leadership roles and advocate for change. The events of the past two years from the pandemic to the Afghanistan crisis has brought to light that global collaboration has never been more important, and young women must be at the centre of a global effort to build back bettter - whether that's pushing for accessible education or ensuring we don't lose progress on gender parity in the workforce.
This project supports the direct project costs incurred to run the 2022 Summit for the 30 global delegates. If the Summit is held on-line all donations will be designated to the related technology costs for delegates to participate from their homes and if in-person to the delegates travel and visa costs. Finally, funds will also be used for ongoing project evaluation to ensure delivery of the highest quality programming to cultivate our next generation leader.
The Global Summit's learning, mentoring and networking will build the confidence and skill sets of young women so that they will be prepared to advocate in local, national and international decision-making spaces. After the Global Summit, Delegates will be supported to continue to develop advocacy efforts in their home countries through mentorship and alumnae engagement. This project and the Summit supports the UN's SDG Goal #5 of Gender Equality.
