Youth defender's work: blooming youth
We, the youth defenders are very grateful for the trust you have placed in us to continue developing our work in the defense and promotion of human rights, so we want to share with you some of the actions that have been carried out in the last months.
Derived from the complex context of structural and systematic violence that we face, we continue accompanying in an interorganizational way different cases in the pursuit of justice and truth for women victims of femicide violence in advocacy spaces directly with them, looking for weave networks, and promoting resignifaction moments. Indeed, we looked for spaces to meet and dialogue with justice institutions. In addition to legal advice and institutional representation of a case on gender violence.
We continue to defend food sovereignty, betting on the importance of rescuingnative seeds as a mean to ensure the rightto a healthy environment and the right tonutritious, sufficient, and quality food. Forthat we gave continuity to public policies inforce to guarantee the enforceability of thehuman right to adequate food. With great affection, we appreciate the accompaniment of the youths that joined the organization through the modalities of social service, volunteering actions and professional practices, who enthusiastically joined accompaniment and advocacy processes in diverses social sectors that have historically been violated and discriminated against.
These youths closed their process and participation in the CDH Vitoria and opened other personal and professional paths. So with great excitement we are prepared to welcome a next generation of youth defenders into the team. Finally, as part of the end of the year and the beginning of a new cycle, balance sessions and intergenerational reflections were held and allowed us to have broader picture to plot routes and projections in the short, medium and long term, contributing to the strategic defense work that is carried out.
We continued the process of internal institutional strengthening as a fundamental axis in our work, generating spaces and actions of self-care, collective care, legal and advocacy tools, as well as a context analysis, which allow us to share knowledge, reflect on our task and role in the defense on human rights, and also the needs and issues to solve the accompaingtments that we give in order to continue building together.
¡Thank you!
