Support Women's Justice and Economic Recovery

In North Kivu, women and girls continue to face serious barriers to justice as a result of conflict, displacement, gender-based violence, poverty, and limited access to public services. In Goma, Beni, Butembo, and Lubero, many women are unable to seek legal support because they do not know their rights or cannot afford legal and judicial costs. This project aims to help women overcome these barriers by providing legal awareness, access to assistance, and capacity building for community actors who can support women in accessing justice and protecting their rights.

The project has a total funding target of $50,000. To date, we have mobilized $0, and implementation has not yet begun. We are currently in the preparation phase, working to identify qualified trainers and participants who will take part in the planned activities. Once the necessary resources are secured, the project will begin in the targeted communities. We are committed to being transparent with our donors: the activities described in this report are planned activities, not activities that have already been completed.

With the support of our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we are working to reach the resources needed to launch this initiative and support women whose economic circumstances often prevent them from seeking justice. Every contribution can help remove a financial barrier, strengthen knowledge of legal rights, and give a woman a greater opportunity to seek protection and justice.
