IT Skill Development Lab Empowering Women in sawat

By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader

Title: IT Skill Development Lab Empowering Women in Mingora, Swat

Summary

An IT Skill Development Lab has been successfully established in Mingora, Swat, expanding access to quality digital education and empowering local youth—particularly women—with in-demand IT skills. The center aims to graduate 100 women every 6 months, fostering economic independence and digital inclusion.

Story / Update

In many parts of Swat, especially for women, access to quality education and skill development opportunities remains limited. The growing demand for digital skills in today’s world highlights the need for accessible training centers that can equip individuals with practical and employable skills.

To address this gap, Alkhidmat Foundation has established an IT Skill Development Lab in Mingora, Swat, with a special focus on empowering women through digital education. The lab provides structured training in essential IT skills, enabling participants to explore opportunities in freelancing, online work, and professional careers.

Through this initiative, 100 women will graduate every 6 months, gaining valuable skills that can help them achieve financial independence and contribute to their households and communities. The program not only enhances technical knowledge but also builds confidence, self-reliance, and future opportunities for women.

This initiative marks a significant step toward bridging the digital divide and promoting inclusive development in the region.
