Dear friends,
At Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico (FMnPR), we believe that investing in women-led organizations is one of the most powerful ways to build a more just, equitable, and caring Puerto Rico. Here is what your support made possible.
Preserving knowledge that helps survivors
This period, we supported the final printing of Sistematización de experiencias, a research publication documenting the SIEMPREVIVAS RUM Program's support services for survivors of gender-based violence. Over 100 copies will be distributed in 2026–2027 to universities and service organizations across Puerto Rico, so that others can adapt this proven service-learning model. We are not just funding a publication. We are putting community-built knowledge into the hands of the people who can use it.
Opening doors for organizations that are often overlooked
Through our Gender and Racial Justice Fund, we connected the ten organizations in our 2026 cohort with donors and allies. Many serve LGBTQI+ communities and racially marginalized people, whose needs are too often under-resourced. New relationships mean broader networks, more diverse funding, and greater stability for essential services. Strengthening an organization takes more than a grant. It means opening doors.
Investing in the people behind the mission
FMnPR also continued strengthening its own foundations, with renewed appreciation for the team that makes this work possible. Our partners consistently tell us that our feminist, trust-based approach is what helps them grow their capacity and advance their programs, organizing, and advocacy.
Looking Ahead
We will keep sharing knowledge that strengthens responses to gender-based violence, connecting partners with new allies, and building the organizational foundation needed for lasting impact.
Thank you
To every donor supporting this project: your generosity sustains women-led initiatives and expands opportunities for women, girls, and gender-diverse people across Puerto Rico. If you can, please consider giving again or sharing this project with a friend.
In gratitude,
Irene Valdés Wochinger
Interim Co-Executive Director, FMnPR
