After russian strikes on Kyiv, our Brave to Rebuild team quickly forms volunteer crews and deploys to the hardest-hit neighbourhood. There, we board up blown-out windows and doors, clear debris, and restore basic safety for seniors and families with children. Deployments happen nearly every week, and repairs at a single address can take several days. Your support equips volunteer crews - so they can work faster and to a higher standard and secure thousands of Kyiv homes after mass attacks.
When a blast wave blows out windows and doors, a home is instantly unsafe: cold, wind, rain or snow, broken glass, injury risk, and unauthorized entry. Many vulnerable households-older adults, families with children, people with disabilities-cannot cope alone. Volunteer crews close this gap, but without proper gear we lose speed and reach. We need consumables, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and transport to turn goodwill into measurable results in the first hours after a strike.
With your support, we strengthen volunteer teams to: board up windows and doors with OSB and heavy-duty film to protect residents and their homes; install battens, fasteners, and temporary locks; clear debris safely (bagging and removal); work with proper protection - gloves, goggles, respirators, ear protection, headlamps, first-aid kits; and arrive on time with fuel, vehicles, and hot meals. One fully equipped crew can make dozens of homes safe per day.
Rapid home stabilization reduces secondary losses (moisture, mould, theft), allows people to remain at home, and enables full restoration to begin. Your investment in tools, PPE, and standardized material kits sustains operations: a single kit serves for months and helps thousands of households. We systematically recruit volunteers, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with local services - so each contribution multiplies over time and scale.
