Summary

Plastic or the public enemy number one is a real threat to health, the environment, biodiversity and economic stability. The solution to end plastic is to reduce it from the source, by reducing its production we are turning off the tap. The tiniest particles of plastic, microplastics, have been traveling through the food chain, and they were found in our blood. They disrupt our human health and could pose a real threat to our fertility.

Challenge

Everywhere we look, there is plastic. From the oceans, to forests, to food, to the air we breathe. You might not see it but microplastics were found in almost every part of the human body, including in breast milk, the placenta, testicles, livers, hearts and kidneys.

Solution

Fortunately, many solutions exist: turning off the plastic tap is the most important one of them. A strong legally binding Global Plastic Treaty, which addresses the whole lifecycle of plastics is a big step forward toward a plastic free future. The treaty negotiations are taking place in November. Your support will strengthen our advocacy efforts to conduct vital research, mobilize public support, and influence policymakers to create a world free from plastic waste.

Long-Term Impact

A plastic free future, with clean oceans, forests, roads, and cities worldwide. Microplastics would no longer be a threat to public health. And most importantly, protect the life of newborn babies and future generations and preserve our planet where they can thrive.
