There came a point when Maryam’s back pain became so severe that she could barely move.
The pain had taken over her daily life, and hope was beginning to fade.
When Maryam finally reached one of SEMA’s hospitals in northern Syria, our medical team immediately began the necessary examinations and scans.
The results showed serious damage to her spine.
She needed a major operation to stabilize it using ten surgical screws.
For a patient already struggling financially, treatment of this kind can feel completely out of reach.
But Maryam was not left alone.
With the support of generous donors like you, SEMA was able to perform the surgery she desperately needed.
The procedure was completed successfully, and Maryam is now beginning her recovery, with hope that she can gradually regain her mobility and return to a more normal life.
What you helped provide was more than surgery.
It was relief after months of suffering.
It was the chance to move again.
And it was a reason to believe that life could improve.
Across northern Syria, many other patients are still living with serious conditions while waiting for treatment they cannot afford.
