Dear Supporter,
Your generosity has helped give vulnerable newborn babies in northern Syria the medical care they urgently need—and today, we are grateful to share the story of one of them.
Baby Idris was only eight days old when he arrived at one of SEMA’s hospitals in critical condition. He was suffering from severe jaundice, a condition that can lead to serious and lasting complications when treatment is delayed.
Recognizing the danger, our doctors immediately admitted him to the neonatal intensive care unit and began the treatment and close medical monitoring required to protect his fragile life.
For his family, every hour was filled with fear.
But because of your compassionate contributions, Idris was able to receive specialized care without his family having to bear costs they could not afford.
Today, his condition is steadily improving, and he is moving closer to the moment when he can safely return home to his family.
Your support helped turn a medical emergency into a story of hope.
Thank you for helping provide the equipment, medications, skilled medical teams, and intensive care that newborns like Idris need to survive.
While we celebrate his recovery, many other babies are still arriving at our hospitals in urgent need of care. Their families are counting on the same compassion that gave Idris his chance.
Together, we can ensure that more newborns receive timely treatment—and that more parents leave the hospital carrying their babies safely home.
With heartfelt gratitude,
