Support UNICEF's Response to Ebola Outbreak in DRC

Thank you for standing with children and families affected by the Ebola outbreak. Your support is helping UNICEF act quickly to protect children and help stop the spread of this deadly disease.

As of August 23, there are over 5,600 confirmed cases and over 2,700 confirmed deaths across the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Children represent nearly one in four confirmed cases and account for almost one in three deaths. Thanks to your generosity, UNICEF is responding on the ground:

• 455 metric tons of UNICEF supplies have been delivered to affected and at-risk countries for the Ebola response
• 13,000 frontline community actors and key influencers have been trained and deployed, reaching more than 2.4 million people with Ebola prevention guidance through over 505,000 household visits
• 3 UNICEF-supported nurseries are now operating in Ituri Province, providing safe, child-friendly care for young children who have been in contact with Ebola, unaccompanied children and children whose caregivers are receiving treatment
• UNICEF is also helping protect health workers on the front lines. This work includes speeding up the procurement and distribution of personal protective equipment and supporting infection prevention and control in health facilities.
