IDEA4Africa is looking to establish Entrepreneurship Clubs in Uganda giving students and young adults the skills they need to be successful when there aren't enough good jobs for the exploding population. Our sustainable model of training teachers to run Entrepreneurship Clubs, providing youths with the resources they need is changing the lives of young Rwandans and now Ugandans as well!
The problem is clear. Uganda, like many Sub-Saharan African countries, confronts unemployment and underemployment, made more acute by an ongoing population explosion. Many of the population earns less than $2.00 a day. Teachers need to be trained, and supported, in the entrepreneurial mindset that is going to change the way they think about, and teach, entrepreneurship and leadership skills. And students need to acquire the skills to have the earning power they are capable of.
IDEA4Africa is changing the paradigm that exists today by educating, mentoring and supporting students, teachers and young entrepreneurs who will continue to lead the economic transformation of their country. We are empowering the youth of Uganda with the entrepreneurial and leadership skills to become job creators and not just job seekers, and to become leaders themselves.
We're impacting change by transferring our methodology and unique curriculum to high school teachers and other key actors throughout the country who have the reach and influence with the next generation of Ugandans. Approximately 5,000 students have directly benefited from our programs thus far. And over 100,000 people nationwide in Rwanda have benefited from our projects.
