3.2 School Monitoring Visit in Margibi County
Learning Squared visited two schools in Margibi County, Minor Community School, and Agape International School. The visit aimed to identify new ways to support the PTA and develop strategies to have more members actively involved in school activities.
During the visit, our team met with members of the leadership of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) school authorities at both schools. These meetings brought together over 10 participants. The team also had one-on-one sessions with students to understand better some of the challenges affecting students.
The team also spoke with teachers about students' progress, attendance, and challenges during school hours. The group later encouraged parents to support their children's education and ensure they are in school daily. At the end of the monitoring visit, teachers and members of the PTA thanked Learning Squared for their efforts in ensuring that underserved children attend schools regularly.
However, the visitation highlighted some areas for improvement, as the schools lack support and need institutional capacities to improve learning outcomes.
