Project Title: Emergency Assistance for Refugees and Wounded Soldiers from Nagorno-Karabakh
Total Goal: $30,000
Remaining Funds Needed: $23,026
Number of Donors: 112
Monthly Donors: 0
Project Duration: 3 years
Background
The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 and again in September 2023 resulted in the displacement of tens of thousands of Armenians to Armenia. In 2023 alone, 120,000 Armenians were forced to leave their homes and properties, seeking refuge in Armenia. These refugees face severe challenges including housing, job placement, clothing, and food. Additionally, several thousand soldiers were injured during the conflicts, necessitating urgent medical and rehabilitative care.
Challenge
The Armenian refugees from Karabakh, having lost their homes, arrived in Armenia with little to no personal belongings. They are primarily residing in conditions that are unsatisfactory, with insufficient access to food, medicine, and other essential items. The project aims to provide immediate humanitarian aid to these refugees, as well as support soldiers and children with disabilities who are undergoing treatment in medical centers.
Solution
Through this project, refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh will receive essential products for living, which will facilitate their adaptation to their new environment. A dedicated team of psychologists, doctors, therapists, and volunteers will provide special support to wounded soldiers and refugees, focusing on overcoming stress, aiding in adaptation and socialization, and addressing post-traumatic syndromes. Disabled individuals will receive high-quality exercise equipment to aid in their rehabilitation.
Long-Term Impact
This project will benefit two groups of refugees living in social centers by providing food packages, medicines, hygiene products, and clothing. These interventions will have a lasting impact on their lives, helping them integrate into society, protect their human rights, and create better lives for themselves and their families. Wounded soldiers will receive quality prostheses, wheelchairs, and crutches, along with comprehensive assistance to help them return to a normal life.
