Project Summary:

The project was considered due to most affected area by poverty stricken where in many orphaned outreached children no access to education and suffering male nutrition since long. Considering the underlying factors this project will establish 10 Non-Formal schools cum library for disadvantaged children to provide free education in remote areas at Kurigram Sub-District in Bangladesh providing nutritious food & biscuit to 200 malnourished orphan children. The project aim to build a school cum library well equipped with necessary books and critical literacy support to 200 poor outreach orphaned children. The project plans to fulfilling the nutritional requirements of school-going children and establishing children's right to education. 

Change the life of an orphan’s by giving them a loving caring home. Your support were provided nutritious fortified biscuits, clothing, healthcare, meals, education and a special guardianship aiming to break out of poverty today. Every child deserves a happy and healthy childhood and the opportunity to build a secure future. In this connection the project is designed to bring a visible change in communities. We are committed to supporting 200 orphan children who are disadvantaged by poverty.in Kurigram, We provided child centered community based support through education, healthcare, foods, protection of the children. Your donation particularly being used for primary necessities to those who are struggling with the poverty to get food, healthcare, school uniforms, education materials, tuition fees etc. 

Project Objective: The broader objective of the project is to help and support 200 outreach orphaned children in rural Kurigram, Bangladesh to facilitate education, nutritional requirements and establish children rights.

Targeted Beneficiaries:

Targeted beneficiaries determined by the geographical area in which a project is located who benefit from a project. The target beneficiaries within the project localities will be primarily comprised of boys and girls children households, who are the orphaned and most affected by poverty stricken has given the highest priority of the project. The children age to be considered ranging from 06-11 years.

Challenge

Many orphaned children in the proposed areas by losing both parents and single parent and become most vulnerable. Many of them are disadvantaged for poverty stricken of their parents who are divorcee women, disabled people. The targeted children suffers from food, education and healthcare support, the government has no or limited support for the children and they grow with ill health, uneducated and malnourished as a result they become uncertain to survive. The project aimed to address such underlying issues provided with multiple supports like food, cloths, medication and education aiming to uplift their livelihoods.

Targeted Outcomes & Measurement 

     10 non-formal school cum library are functional
     200 learners has been enrolled
     Provided Necessary nutritional food packages
     Addressed children rights issues
     Provided school dress and bags
     10 qualified teachers have been deployed from local communities
     Vertical and horizontal linkage established with government line department of education.
     Necessary books to be channeled by the Government Education Department for 2023 year.
     Regular follow-up and monitoring system has been developed and continued

Activities progressed during the period: 

  • Ensure nutritious food and basic necessities (provide clothing’s, hygiene materials etc.)
  • Education support (Books, education supplies, Tutor support,
  • Library support (providing books and accessories)
  • Health-care Services and counseling
  • Co-curricular activities in the form of music, art, dance & sports
  • Competitions for intellectual development (art, math, science, spelling bee, essay, debate etc.)
  • Observing & celebrating important international days (World Child Rights Day, International Literacy Day, Girl child day, World Sight Day, World Children’s Day etc.)
  • Organize learning Seminars & lectures on important issues that is most relevant & necessary for children to learn
  • Giving Awards & Recognitions for academic achievement 

Ensured food and Healthcare Support:

School feeding for the orphanages were facilitated during schooling is going on. Primarily feeding is provided once in a week to all children. The project has planned to provide food in everyday based on available funding as required.

 Long-Term Impact

Due to poverty, the children are out of school, half fed and without medication mainly engaged in child labor or married early. In the long run, they face negative consequences in their physical, cognitive and social development. Our initiative will provide them the necessary support for food, healthcare, school uniforms, education materials, tuition fees etc. for the children until the project is phased out. It will help the children to grow with hope and full potential as a healthy individuals. 

Conclusion:

Till the reporting period we received very limited donation which is very negligible amount in terms of demands and has been cash out for their commodities to those children whose parents or caregivers cannot afford to pay. As we continue to expand our impact and actively working to cultivate maximized its outcome and improve orphans livelihood with the money raised. We do hope to give new hope to the disadvantaged peoples of our community. But without your additional support / funding, it would not be possible to reach the goal of the project. More important, you'll know that you made a significant difference in the lives of a disadvantaged family that desperately needs your help.
