"This grant gave me wings and made me believe in my talent" said Justyna, one of our scholars. Thanks to the scholarship she made her own, professional and artistic film, shown at festivals. Zywiec Development Foundation help young people from small communities to believe in their talents and develop into profession. We plan to support 15 talented young people from small communities in the South of Poland. By giving them scholarships we open them chances for success based on their talents.
Dreaming and imagining what is possible to achieve is shaped by the place of living, access to culture, experiences of our relatives and friends.Living in small communities means limited access to opportunities of developing talents, passion. In Zywiecczyzna region (over 150 000 people) there is one cinema, no university, few libraries and strong folk tradition. Every third Polish from small communities until is over 30 plans to leave his town or village because lack of possibilities to develop
Many young people do not see space to present their skills, their talents in small communities. Scholarships granted to young people help them e.g. to participate into professional workshops, scientific conferences, to buy tools and equipment necessary to develop their talents. Important is that all scholars have tutors' support and promotion from Foundation. This kind of empowerment made them believe in themselves; they can stay or leave their small communities but they have freedom of choice.
Ten young people from small communities in South of Poland will receive scholarships based on their talents and passion (min. 600$ per person). These founds allow scholars make passion their profession; e.g. to participate in workshops, conferences, implant innovations. We believe that such programs built communities and has long-term impact. All scholars during scholarship program are educated about volunteering, sharing their stories and talents with the others.
