Dear Donor,

We wish to thank you for your donation and the support, we have received for this project.

During the last quarter, we've not carried out any work from the funds received for this project.

We are in the process of supporting a couple of health camps in underserved communities/areas in Colombo, Sri Lanka with the collaboration of Lions Clubs. These medical camps will cover testing of eyes, testing for diabetics, basic medical tests, providing eye-glasses, supporting cataract surgeries, and providing medicine to underprivileged persons/families.

These camps are planned to be held in January / February 2024.

Also, we wish to support underprivileged patients requiring medicine/operations for medical conditions identified and prescribed by consultants in Government Hospitals in Sri Lanka.

We will provide an update to you during our next quarterly update, concerning the above planned activities.

Thank you and an update

Dear Donors,

Wish you a year filled with happiness, love, peace, good health and prosperity !

We take this opportunity to thank you once again for your kind contribution to support hospital and medicine shortages in Sri Lanka.

During the last couple of months, we have supported a couple of young girls on their individual requirment.

A school going girl was diagnosed with scoliosis and she had to undergo an operations where a device was inserted to straighten her spine. We supperted to purchase the orthopedic device. The parents were ever so grateful as otherwise it would have been a huge challenge for them to purchase the item.

The other girl was suffering form a cancer in her knee, and she was requested to take a course of injections. Each injection was Rs. 125,000/-. We supported her by purchasing two injections. After her course of injections, she underwent surgery to remove the tumour, but currently awaits reconstruction of the leg to enable her to walk. She is required to raise LKR 2 million approx. for this surgery.

We also supported a medical camp organised by the Lions Club of Colombo Host. The medical camp treated low-income earners in the area. The services provided were doctor consultation, diabetes testing, eye testing, awareness session, provided eye glasses and provided medicine (general) and viatmins. At this camp, there were 98 doctor consultations carried out, 197 were provided free spectacles, and 125 were tested for diabetes and BMI. A total cost of Rs. 250,000/- approximately was incurred by us, on medicine and the services provided by the Lions Gift of Sight Hospital in Panadura.

Also, a donation of Rs. 150,000/- was made to the Lions Club of Colombo Host to perform cataract surgeries for those low-income earners who are unable to pay for such surgeries. The cataract surgeries are performed at the Lions Gift of Sight Hospital in Panadura.

We will be supporting many such requirements of those who are required to undergo medical treatment for life-threatening conditions, or to have an improved lifstyle, and are unable to fund them on their own.

Thank you and an Update

Dear Donor,

Greetings to you from Tarana Foundation.

Our project to support Sri Lankan Hospital Urgent Medical Needs has been carried out since April 2022 with the support of all of you. We have been able to support many requests we've received from hospitals based all over the island.

We received nearly LKR 20 million so far from GlobalGiving, Go Fund Me and other donors. We have expended over LKR 19 million to support requests received from the Hospitals. All donatios have been utilised (100%) towards purchase of urgent and essential medicine, utensils, equipment requested by the hospitals.

The hospitals we've supported todate have been,

3) Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama
4) Teaching Hospital in Anuradhapura
5) General Hospital in Monaragala

7) Teaching Hospital in Mahamodara, Galle
8) National Hospital in Kandy
9) Elpitiya Base Hospital
10) National Blood Bank in Narahenpita, Colombo
11) Base Hospital in Nuwara-eliya
12) Teaching Hospital in Kurunegala
13) Castle Street Hospital for Women (Maternity)
14) Colombo South National Hospital
15) National Cancer Institute, Maharagama
16) National Institute of Mental Health
17) Base Hospital in Chilawathura, Mannar

Your donation has helped save lives at hosptials. The Consultants and the Medical Staff at all these hospitals have been very grateful for the donations the hospitals received from your funding.

We have also helped a medical camp operated by the Lions Club of Colombo Host to test Daibetes and othe basic medical conditions, provide medicine and also to test eyes and provide eye glasses to low-income families in Rajagiriya, an urban area in Colombo District,

This initiative has helped many to detect early certain basic medical conditions, and also to improve the vision and give hope in life.
