Challenge

Starting May 24, 2017, Sri Lanka has been hit with devastating floods and landslides. The damage is widespread - 14 of Sri Lanka's 25 districts have been affected. More than 180 people have been killed to date, and a half million have been displaced. Food and shelter are the most immediate needs.

Solution

Sarvodaya has taken immediate steps to provide relief to the affected people. Six Sarvodaya District Centers are designated for collection of relief items including water bottles, milk powder, dry rations, and sanitary items.

Long-Term Impact

The project supports immediate relief efforts and will provide assistance required for people impacted by the flood.
