A girl's future should not be decided by violence.

It should not be decided by misinformation.

It should not be decided by harmful traditions or pressure she does not understand.

And it should not be decided simply because no one ever told her that she has rights.

Her body. Her health. Her future.

These should never be treated as insignificant matters.

For women and girls living in communities affected by conflict and displacement, however, exercising these rights can become especially difficult.

Displacement can weaken traditional protection systems. Poverty can deepen vulnerability. Stigma can discourage survivors from seeking help. Cultural taboos can prevent adolescents from accessing reliable sexual and reproductive health information.

GoGreen wants to help create a different environment.

Through Support Sexual Health Rights for Women and Girls, we aim to empower 400 women, girls, and young people in Benue State with accurate, age-appropriate, rights-based information and opportunities for peer learning and community dialogue.

Our vision is not to tell women and girls what choices to make.

It is to help ensure they have the knowledge, confidence, rights awareness, and access to support needed to make informed choices for themselves.

That is empowerment.

That is dignity.

And that is worth investing in.
