Under staffed, underfunded and under equipped education facilities in the area struggle to provide adequate levels of schooling to students. Working in rural communities on the coast in Kenya we aim to support the local schools through the provision of resources and through assistance with maintaining and developing existing facilities.
Communities in the coastal region of Kenya are lacking the funds to appropriately upkeep, renovate or supply the students with necessary facilities or equipment. With large class numbers, few teachers and lack of funding to provide basic resources and adequate standards of teaching, education suffers. A lack of basic provisions such as classroom resources holds teachers back from supplying creative and educational. Run down poorly lit school buildings have to be closed as they are unsafe.
We aim to assist the local schools with materials, supplies and resources. Allocating funds where they are needed most, we aim to provide the resources needed to teachers, with the provision of equipment requested by the beneficiaries. Text books, exercise books, teacher resources will be supplied, along with using funds to maintain school property and develop existing structures.
Supporting rural and remote schools by supplying the basic resources, equipment and support needed to operate and supply strong education programmes. Assisting schools working with roughly 1800 children and helping them to reach their full potential we aim to provide educational facilities and resources to impact upon education and provide long term opportunities for employment.
