The volunteering engagement and activities for 2015-16 was kicked off in the first weekend of the academic year.
On May 29th and 30th, Youth-For-Seva, volunteering wing of Hindu Seva Pratishthana (YFS) volunteers from Bengaluru visited the Schools in Kigga (Sringeri Taluk) and Bilinele (Puttur Taluk).
Another corporate company's team was also present. Sessions on sports, menstrual hygiene for high-school girls, science experiments, career guidance were conducted successfully.
As part of the rural school initiative, Raincoats and School bags were distributed to 100 students in Kigga and 150 students in Bilinele.
Volunteers also enjoyed the interaction with kids. First time volunteers appreciated the efforts of YFS to reach out to the remote areas where there is an urgent and immediate need to bridge the gap in education in terms of infrastructure, coaching and support to extra-curricular activities.
The teaching staff and the management are immensely happy with this association and have given full support for YFS activities in the schools for the overall development of the students.
YFS is committed to engage more volunteers, local communities to conduct various sessions and camps in these rural schools throughout the year apart from providing school kits, raincoats, bags, sports materials, science experiment infrastructure etc.
