Project Progress Report: What We Have Done

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for standing with us as we work to bring safe and reliable drinking water to the children and families of Ortese in Benue State. Your generosity and concern mean the world to a community still recovering from years of conflict and hardship.

Current Situation
Children in Ortese continue to rely on contaminated streams for their daily water needs, putting their health and education at grave risk. Frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases like diarrhea and cholera have made daily life extremely challenging, especially as climate change worsens flooding and contamination.

What We’ve Achieved So Far

Conducted community assessments to identify the most urgent water needs and optimal locations for water systems.
Built partnerships with local leaders and volunteers to ensure community support and participation.
Launched public awareness campaigns on hygiene and safe water practices.

What’s Next
With more support, we are ready to:

Begin installation of boreholes and water filtration units to provide clean, accessible water sources.
Set up handwashing stations and continue community education to promote hygiene.
Carry out regular water testing and maintenance for ongoing safety.
Empower local residents with training for long-term water management.
