Dear supporter,
Thank you for your support towards our project. Our efforts have been focused on increasing vaccination rates by supporting local community health centers and helping them reach some of most rural villages.
One such village is called Shihpur that lies 100 km far and on the other side of the river from the local community health center (CHC). Organizing a vaccination camp had been one of the biggest challenges for them due to the distance and flood.
Our team members with the CHC team devised and developed a plan to organize a vaccination camp in the village.
Milaan team members started their journey with the local women health worker at 10:00 AM to reach the village. Crossing the river which is stretched in approx 8 KMs in width was extremely risky and a difficult task, the strong undercurrents made the river even more dangerous and the weather was also not in favor. The team finally reached after completing the journey of 100 kms at 2 PM.
The team set up quickly and started the vaccination camp. The camp started at 2:30 PM and ended at 10:00 PM in the night. We successfullyc overed 70% of the target beneficiaries and vaccinated them successfully.
This could not have been possible without your support. Your contribution ensures we’re able to reach some of the most vulnerable communities and vaccinate them to save lives in rural villages of India.
