Thousands of Syrian refugees travel to Greece fleeing a civil war that has raged since 2011 and displaced millions. In 2015 Dirty Girls of Lesvos started collecting, washing and redistributing clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, bedding and other items used by refugees arriving, or living in camps in Greece. This service helps protect the environment and shows respect for the vulnerable refugee population by providing them with clean usable items to aid in their comfort, health, and dignity.
Do Your Part is a 501(3) grassroots non-profit organization doing its part for those affected by disasters worldwide. Since 2015 Do Your Part has had a presence in Greece working with refugee resettlement, humanitarian aid distribution, vaccinations, and community organizing and building. With the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East, thousands continue to flee their homes arriving in Greece seeking safety for their families from war and tyranny.
A donation to Do Your Part will help support Dirty Girls of Lesvos to "collect, wash and redistribute clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, bedding and any other materials in good condition which have been used by refugees arriving, or living in camps in Greece." They show respect to refugees, and the environment while providing volunteer opportunities and employment for local residents. Washing clothing, blankets, and sleeping bags provides comfort, health, and dignity to a vulnerable population.
The service Dirty Girls provides helps maintain the dignity of refugees as they rebuild their lives in a new land.
