Support Children Education during pandemic
![]()
In India, a majority of the population, particularly of the lower socio-economic strata, only have access to early childhood education imparted by the government through the Zilla Parishad Aanganwadis. The Aanganwadi centres have various elements that they focus on: health, vaccination, maternal health, adolescent health, pre-primary education etc. Pre-primary education only serves as one aspect of a larger agenda, thereby diluting the focus of the early childhood education intervention.
With the 2nd wave of the pandemic now upon us, Communities are anxious, scared, grieving. They are unsure about the duration of this pandemic and the restrictions, which directly impact livelihoods and have a domino effect on health and education of families as a whole. Schools are likely to stay shut. Mental health is strained with fake news and rumours.
During this situation we have not left any children and supported their family and provided support on our best level we can by helping them giving ration kits, stories and entertainment & educational material with families STCI will thus optimize its own effort, support the government to reach the last mile and ensure that our programme participants are at the center of all our work. Alongside we continue to work on our core education, skilling and protection programmes with vulnerable children. That work is important for long-term resilience, and to ensure that the next time there is a crisis, we are all better able to get through it together.
With the generous support from funders like you, we continue to aid thousands of such children in India achieve their dreams.
