During the period under review, SIVA Trust staff continued to focus on the basic requirements of persons with disability (PwD) in the working area did lot of motivation to remove their trauma in the COVID-19 scenario. They got new ID cards to 5 PwDs, monthly pension to 2 persons and free chiks for rearing to 25 persons, all from Government agencies. They also helped a person with damaged right hand to apply for artificial limb from a private agency.
A new Joint Livelihood Group of PwDs, in the name of Dr. Ambedkar Special Trade Group was formed in February, 2021 at Thevarkulam village, with our support for taking up group income generation program. Five Children with intellectual disability were located and their parents were motivated to get admission to their children in special schools for bringing change in the children's life style. One boy and a girl with disability, who did not go to school because of Covid lock down were helped in re-joining school, as the schools have started opening in phases.
To commomorate the International Disability Day on December 7th, 15 children with disability from the nearby villages were brought to the office of SIVA Trust, they were given counselling and a sumptuous lunch and they spent some hours happily in drawing competitions, short race, musical chair and otherevents.
