Study Aid for Palestinian University students

We are now past the halfway point of 2026, and throughout the year our scholars continue showing solid achievements and exploring new opportunities that benefit them personally, academically and professionally. 

Here are some stories of growth and success of our Palestinian students, supported by your generous contributions. 

Adnan and Itqaan start up

Adnan, a Computer Science student in his second year, followed his huge aspiration to start a tech start-up called Itqaan with 3 of his friends. Adnan named the tech start-up Itqaan [Arabic for proficiency] to reflect the care and precision he poured into its creation. It is no easy feat to juggle study and work, but Adnan remains steadfast with his goals. 

Itqaan tech start-up offers clients customised software, automates their workflows and integrates systems using recent technologies in the market, ensuring their clients receive the best solution that fits them and allows them to optimise their business. Understanding the progress of the digital world, Itqaan merges AI technology with its team’s technical excellence to deliver the best results.

This venture is not new to him, as Adnan built a solid profile. During his studies, he created a Hostel Management System to help room allocation and maintenance run smoothly and eliminated possible human mistakes in manual Excel sheets that were previously practised in the industry. Recently, Itqaan served beauty clinics by creating a live customer support agent and arranging process automation, which helped potential and new customers receive support on time, with customer data streamlined for clinics to utilise. 

In the future, he plans to expand his team and bring his brand to the global world. He is already studying the market for Ireland and Germany, as he saw some room for marketing and potential opportunities over there.  This is a testament to his visionary mind, as he is carefully planning for what is next after graduation.

Ayoub and his love for culture and languages

Ayoub, one of our scholars, shared with us that he is a polyglot and speaks Arabic, his mother tongue, and other languages like English, Turkish, and Spanish. He also has a conversational-level grasp of Malay, Urdu and Maltese. 

He once got an A+ in a Malay language elective subject and even received a slice of cake from the lecturer as an appreciation of his dedication. He usually learns new words and languages casually during his free time. Picking up new languages, especially the Malay language, is a way for him to connect with people of different ethnicities and open up his social circle. This helps him understand and be more empathetic towards others, as well as expand his horizon and thinking. Ayoub also expressed: 

“I learn the languages of countries when I feel a sense of belonging within them or a feeling towards them. Malaysia was the country that embraced me after the war; my survival was embodied in my presence and travels here. Therefore, I felt that what I could offer was to learn about the culture, mingle with the people, and learn the language, even if only a little.”

Ahmed - a step towards becoming an educator

Ahmed was inspired to study Early Childhood Education because he enjoys working with young children and helping them to learn and grow. 

“The early years are very important for a child's development, and I am determined to make a positive impact by creating a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment. I am passionate about helping children build confidence, communication skills, and a love for learning that will benefit them throughout their lives. It feels like planting a solid foundation in their mind so they can grow up as a healthy, capable and happy adult’.’

This semester, Ahmed went to a kindergarten and did a storytelling session with 3 children aged between 4-6 years old at Ilmi Orchard Montessori. This is part of his assignment on Research Methodology in Early Childhood Education subject. His assignment was about the role of storytelling in enhancing communication skills amongst preschool children. 

He read to them The Lion and The Mouse story and made a clinical observation on the children’s skills of understanding and listening afterwards while trying to entertain them through animated storytelling. Ahmed mentioned that the challenging part was to understand each child through accurate observation, as each of them has a unique and distinct personality.

Where We're At 

The Study Aid Project has supported 22 students to date, with 7 still being actively supported in the programme. We remain committed to supporting each student on their journey and look forward to the milestones ahead.
