We have had a very busy couple of months in The Oak Centre for Children and Young People getting ready for our Patron's, her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday.
Thanks to your generosity we were able to purchase materials for the children to make birthday cards which were sent in time for her Majesty's big day and much to our delight she sent a lovely letter back. Our Play Specialists organised a party to celebrate in June and all the children dressed up in red, white and blue and enjoyed lots of party food. They especially enjoyed making their own candy floss.
We have also purchased an ipad mini to be used by one of our young patients in an Isolation Room. Sometimes the treatment we have to give our patients means they are not able to leave their rooms and interact with the others and instead they have to stay within a specially designed room. So it is so important for us to be able to provide them with something that will help keep them entertained and distract them for the time they are isolated.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to you for your amazing kindness. We are truly indebted to all our supporters as donations enable us to continue to provide up-to-date facilities, together with state-of-the-art technology in a child friendly environment which will benefit our young patients and allow their normal lives to continue as much as possible.
