Giving Orphans in Goma Hope Again

Dear Friends,

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe place where they are loved, protected, and given the opportunity to dream. Unfortunately, for thousands of orphaned children in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, conflict, displacement, and extreme poverty have taken away that chance.

Thanks to the generosity of compassionate supporters around the world, this project has taken its first important steps toward changing that reality.

Project Overview

Our project seeks to provide 25 orphaned children in Goma with a safe home, nutritious food, healthcare, education, emotional support, and opportunities to grow in a caring environment. Beyond meeting immediate needs, the project is designed to help these children rebuild their lives with dignity and hope for the future.

The total project budget is US$85,000.

To date, we have raised US$154 through the generosity of donors on GlobalGiving. Although this is only the beginning of our fundraising journey, every contribution is helping us move one step closer to transforming children's lives.

Activities Completed

While construction and direct services are scheduled to begin in November 2025, our team has already started the project's preparation phase.

With the first donations received, we have successfully carried out the initial identification and assessment activities required before implementation. These early preparations allow us to plan responsibly, identify priority needs, and ensure that resources are directed where they will have the greatest impact once implementation begins.

At the same time, we have begun identifying qualified caregivers, trainers, education partners, and the children who will benefit from the project. This careful planning is essential to ensure every child receives quality support from the very beginning.

Use of Donated Funds

The US$154 raised so far has been used to support the project's initial preparation and field assessment activities, including identifying target communities and preparing for implementation.

Every dollar entrusted to us is carefully managed to ensure transparency, accountability, and the greatest possible benefit for vulnerable children.

Expected Impact

Once fully funded, this project will provide:

Safe shelter for 25 orphaned children.
Nutritious daily meals.
Access to quality education and school supplies.
Essential healthcare and psychosocial support.
Recreational activities that encourage healthy childhood development.

Looking Ahead

Implementation is planned to begin in November 2025 following the completion of beneficiary identification, staff recruitment, and operational planning.

Together for 25 Children in Goma

À Goma, en République démocratique du Congo, des milliers d'enfants ont perdu leurs parents en raison des conflits en cours et vivent dans l'extrême pauvreté. Nombre d'entre eux manquent de nourriture, d'abri, de soins de santé et d'accès à l'éducation. Sans soutien, ces enfants sont exposés à la maladie, à l'exploitation et à la négligence. Ce projet humanitaire vise à transformer la vie de 25 enfants orphelins en leur offrant sécurité, nourriture, éducation, soins de santé et activités récréatives.

Objectifs du projet

Offrir un foyer sûr et stable à 25 enfants.
Garantir un accès régulier à des repas nutritifs et à des soins de santé essentiels.
Offrir une éducation de qualité, y compris les frais de scolarité et les fournitures scolaires.
Créez un environnement stimulant pour le développement physique, mental et émotionnel.
Protéger les enfants contre l’exploitation et les autres risques liés à leur vulnérabilité.

Hope for 25 Children in Goma

Introduction

In Goma, in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, thousands of children have lost their parents due to ongoing armed conflict and extreme poverty. Left on their own, these children live in precarious conditions without access to food, education, or safe shelter.
In response to this alarming situation, our organization has launched an ambitious humanitarian project aimed at transforming the lives of 25 orphaned children by providing them with food, shelter, healthcare, education, and psychological support.

Thanks to our partnership with GlobalGiving, we are confident that this goal will be achieved with the support of donors from around the world.

Project Objective

To provide 25 orphaned children in Goma with a dignified and hopeful life through:

Safe and stable housing
Three nutritious meals a day
Access to education and school materials
Regular medical care and psychological support
Recreational and educational activities to foster their personal growth

Context and Justification
