Supporting 50 Orphaned Children in Goma

By PASCAL | Cordinator

In Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, many children who have lost their parents because of poverty, conflict, HIV/AIDS, and other hardships struggle to meet their most basic needs. Without reliable shelter, nutritious food, healthcare, or access to education, these children face an uncertain future. Our project, Support Orphaned Children in Goma, aims to give 50 orphaned and vulnerable children a safer environment where they can learn, grow, and regain hope for a better future.

The project is currently in its preparation and resource mobilization phase. With a total budget of $85,000, we have raised $224 so far through the generosity of our early supporters. We are identifying trainers and learners and preparing the next steps before implementation begins. Once sufficient resources are secured, the project will provide essential food, safe accommodation, school supplies, basic healthcare, and emotional support. Planned activities also include improving sleeping facilities with beds and blankets, strengthening caregivers’ skills, and creating spaces where children can learn, play, and develop in a supportive environment.

Although we are still at the beginning of this journey, every donation brings us closer to reaching the children who need this support. Through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we are working to expand our fundraising reach, connect with more international donors, and mobilize the resources needed to achieve our $85,000 goal. Our expected impact goes beyond meeting immediate needs: we want these 50 children to have a genuine opportunity to attend school, grow up in a safe environment, protect their health, and build a more hopeful future. We will continue to share project updates with our supporters as implementation progresses.

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving for providing a platform through which our mission can reach compassionate people around the world. We are equally grateful to every donor who has already contributed. We invite individuals, foundations, companies, and humanitarian partners to join us in supporting these 50 children. Your contribution, whatever its size, can help provide food, shelter, education, and care to a child who deserves the chance to grow up with dignity. Together, we can turn compassion into meaningful action and help build a brighter future for orphaned children in Goma.
