Ensuring Dignity and Security in Old Age

By Nasreen | Project Head

As people grow older, their ability to earn a regular income gradually diminishes. For elderly individuals who are visually challenged, this struggle is often even greater. Many live with limited financial resources, little or no family support, and constant uncertainty about meeting their basic needs.

To address this critical need, the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB) has strengthened its Old-Age Pension Scheme for Elderly Visually Challenged Individuals, with the generous support of compassionate donors. Through this initiative, a monthly pension is provided to poor, vulnerable, and neglected elderly visually challenged individuals, including those who have been abandoned or have no dependable source of support.

This monthly assistance provides more than financial relief—it gives them a sense of security, independence, and dignity. The pension helps beneficiaries meet essential day-to-day expenses and manage basic medical needs without having to depend entirely on others.

Your support can make a profound difference in the lives of these elderly individuals. A regular pension means fewer worries about their next meal, essential medicines, or everyday necessities. Most importantly, it gives them the confidence to live their later years with greater peace of mind and self-respect.

Every contribution becomes a source of hope for someone who has spent a lifetime facing challenges. The smiles, confidence, and renewed sense of security among our beneficiaries are a reflection of the kindness and compassion of our supporters.

We sincerely seek your continued support to help us extend this vital assistance to more elderly visually challenged individuals. Together, we can ensure that they are not forgotten or left to struggle alone, and that every elderly person we serve can experience their later years with dignity, security, comfort, and hope.
