The school building where support was provided
Studying in a clean and attractive classroom is any student's preference. Bright, well ventilated classrooms provide positive impact on learning environment of children. Therefore, with an objective of providing children an access to better learning classroom, ECCA recently supported the painting of three classrooms in Shree Purna Sanjiwani Lankhanamai Secondary School of Dhulikhel, Kavre district.
The earthquake of April 2015 destroyed most of the buildings of Shree Purna Sanjiwani Lankhanamai Secondary School. Since then, the school began teaching its students in temporary shelters (built from bamboo). However, these shelters had very limited facilities and were also insufficient for all students. Cold, dusty and uncomfortable classrooms affected health of students along with learning environment. As the situation started getting worse, the community itself gathered some money and built new 3 storeyed building.
The building built a new hope among students and teachers. As the school did not have enough money to paint the classrooms, they requested ECCA for the support. Realizing the need, ECCA stepped forward to help them. All three newly built classrooms are now painted bright yellow, which not only compliments the classrooms but is also ecpected to bring enthusiasm among students for learning.
"It'd have been dull for our students (to study) without the painting", says Principal Mr. Rajesh. ""We are really thankful for the support."
According to the school, 232 students of the school will be benefitting from the support.
We hope the paint will bring improvement in learning environment of the school. We are also thankful to you for supporting us.
