1. Introduction
This report provides an update on the Fund Samony Youth Tech Academy for RYEN Program (ID: 54367). Our mission is to empower young Nigerians with future-ready technology, vocational, entrepreneurial, leadership, and innovation skills through the Revolutionizing Youth Empowerment in Nigeria (RYEN) initiative.
The Samony Youth Tech Academy is one of the specialized institutions under Samony Academy (Incorporated Trustees)—a unified educational ecosystem committed to "Nurturing Minds, Empowering Futures." Through this ecosystem, we aim to provide lifelong learning opportunities that prepare young people to become innovators, entrepreneurs, ethical leaders, and agents of sustainable development.
2. Appreciation to GlobalGiving
We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving for providing a trusted platform that enables grassroots organizations to connect with compassionate supporters worldwide.
Although we did not receive external financial support during this reporting period, we remain grateful for the opportunity to share our vision with the global community and look forward to building partnerships that will help transform the lives of young people across Nigeria.
3. Funding Status
During this reporting period, the project did not receive any external financial donations through GlobalGiving.
Despite this, implementation planning continued through the support of our internal social enterprise, volunteer network, and community partners. We also continued community outreach, programme development, curriculum planning, and stakeholder engagement in preparation for the Academy's future launch.
4. Project ActivitiesSamony Academy Development
We continued strengthening the institutional framework of Samony Academy (Incorporated Trustees) as a unified educational ecosystem comprising early childhood education, primary and secondary education, entrepreneurship, technical and vocational education, youth leadership development, and specialized innovation centres.
Samony Youth Academy
Planning continued for the Samony Youth Academy, which will provide youth and adult education, leadership development, continuing professional development, entrepreneurship, research, innovation, and executive learning opportunities.
Revolutionizing Youth Empowerment in Nigeria (RYEN)
Through the RYEN initiative, we continued designing programmes that will equip young people with practical digital, entrepreneurial, vocational, and leadership skills to improve employability, foster innovation, and encourage self-reliance.
Integrated Skills Development
Our long-term vision is to integrate technology education with entrepreneurship, technical and vocational education, agribusiness, renewable energy, food innovation, climate action, and sustainable development. This interdisciplinary approach will prepare learners to solve real-world challenges while creating sustainable livelihoods.
Community Outreach
Despite the absence of external funding, we continued engaging young people, educators, community leaders, and stakeholders through outreach and advocacy, promoting lifelong learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and sustainable development.
5. Social Enterprise Support
Our internal social enterprise continues to serve as the backbone of this initiative by providing in-kind resources, volunteer support, technical expertise, research, and innovation.
The Academy is being developed alongside complementary initiatives such as the Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub), youth entrepreneurship programmes, renewable energy initiatives, agribusiness innovation, and community development projects. Together, these programmes will provide learners with practical, hands-on experience while creating opportunities for employment, enterprise development, and social impact.

Although external funding has not yet been received, meaningful progress has continued.

7. Challenges
The absence of external funding continues to limit infrastructure development, acquisition of digital equipment, training facilities, internet connectivity, learning resources, and scholarship opportunities.
Additional donor support will enable us to establish training laboratories, innovation hubs, vocational workshops, digital classrooms, and entrepreneurship incubation centres that will benefit young people across Nigeria.
