As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, at Macmillan Cancer Support we also look at the financial, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaign for better cancer care. Our aim is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK. Life with cancer is still life, and we'll help you live it!
In the UK alone and there are currently 2.5 million UK residents living with cancer. This number is set to increase to 4 million by 2030. We've set ourselves an impressive ambition to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and inspire millions of others to do the same.
At Macmillan, we know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything. So we're here to support people affected by cancer and help them take back control in their lives. From help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who'll listen if you just want to talk, we're here.
We are a force for change, listening to people affected by cancer and working together to improve cancer care. People who live with cancer are experts by experience. Together we use this knowledge to make a positive difference to the lives of people affected by cancer. This could be anything from getting a coffee machine installed in a waiting room, to bringing about changes in the law. We fight discrimination and campaign for change.
