Support M6.2 Earthquake victims in West Sumatra

Challenge

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the western coast of Sumatra island, Indonesia on Friday morning (02/25). The earthquake that epicenter was 12 km from the West Pasaman Regency at a depth of 10 km, was shaking buildings in Singapore and Malaysia as well. The disaster severely damaged residents' houses, public facilities such as schools, mosques. Authorities and local health centers reported at least dozens of people died and over 50 people injured.

Solution

Responding to the disaster, ACT have been deployed on the ground by providing the emergency aid, such as 1. Ready-to-eat food 2. Drinking water and clean water 3. Supplies for Women and Babies 4. Tents & blankets 5. Medical assistance, medicines, hygiene kits 6. Other logistics

Long-Term Impact

Since the disaster damaged the residents' houses, mosque, schools, and other public facilities, we will also preparing for the recovery programs such as residents' houses renovation, rebuilding public facilities, and economic empowerment programs to support the impacted disaster getting back on their own financial independence.
