Many displaced families in northern Syria were forced to leave their homes with very few belongings. Some have lived in camps for years, while others continue to move from one temporary shelter to another.
Displacement has not only taken away their homes but has also destroyed many families' ability to earn a living. Farmers lost their land, workers lost their jobs, and small business owners lost their shops and equipment.
Today, countless families are surviving with little or no stable income. For these households, providing daily food for their children has become an ongoing struggle.
Bread is among the most urgently needed food items. Because it is eaten daily and forms a major part of traditional meals, families require a constant supply.
Supporting bread distribution provides immediate relief and reduces the amount families must spend on food. This allows them to use their very limited resources for other essential needs such as medicine, drinking water, heating, and children's necessities.
By supporting the distribution of fresh bread, donors can directly help families who have already lost so much.
