In Kafra Camp in northern Syria, the AMAL ALUMMA ORGANIZATION team met an elderly woman living in difficult circumstances and facing daily challenges in securing her basic needs.

As people grow older, even the simplest necessities of life can become more difficult to obtain, especially for elderly individuals living in displacement and without a stable source of income. For this reason, our team provided direct financial assistance to the woman, allowing her to use the support to meet her most urgent needs.

The moment the assistance was delivered was more than simply providing financial support. It was a message to this elderly woman that she has not been forgotten, and that there are people who care about her and stand beside her in her time of need.

We believe humanitarian work is not limited to providing food or material assistance. It is also about protecting human dignity and standing beside people when circumstances become overwhelming.

Behind this photograph is an elderly woman who has carried many years of life and is now facing the hardship of displacement and poverty. Our assistance may be limited compared with the scale of the challenges she faces, but for her, it may mean being able to meet an essential need or get through another difficult day.
