As colder weather approaches, thousands of displaced families living in camps across the Gaza Strip are facing another difficult season without adequate protection from rain, wind, and low temperatures. Many families continue to live in fragile tents that were never designed to withstand harsh winter conditions.
There is an urgent need to provide displaced households with essential winter supplies, particularly tarpaulins and basic heating materials. Tarpaulins can help reinforce damaged tents, cover leaking roofs, and create additional barriers against rain and cold winds. Heating supplies can also provide families with some warmth during long and increasingly cold nights.
Preparing now is essential. Waiting until heavy rains and severe cold arrive will make conditions even more difficult for families who have already endured prolonged displacement. With timely support, we can help families strengthen their shelters and face the winter months with greater safety and dignity.
