Shopping Vouchers Empower Orphaned Families in Northern Gaza

By AMAL ALUMMA ORGANIZATION INC | project Leader

Thanks to your generous support, we continued providing financial sponsorship assistance to orphaned children and widowed families living in different areas across northern Gaza. Due to the severe deterioration of cash in circulation and the difficulty of safely distributing financial assistance, we adopted an alternative approach that would preserve the value of your donations while ensuring families received the support they needed.

Instead of handing out cash, we provided shopping vouchers covering the value of each family's sponsorship. We then accompanied the orphans, their mothers, and widowed caregivers to a local shopping center, where they were able to choose the food, clothing, and essential household items that best matched their own needs.

This approach restored an important sense of dignity and choice to the families. Rather than receiving predetermined aid packages, each family was empowered to purchase what was most urgent for them, ensuring that every donation had the greatest possible impact.

For many of these orphaned children and widowed mothers, this was more than financial assistance—it was an opportunity to provide for their families according to their own priorities during extremely difficult circumstances. Seeing the children participate in choosing their own necessities brought moments of joy and hope despite the hardships they continue to face.

Your generosity continues to provide not only practical support, but also dignity, hope, and reassurance to vulnerable families across northern Gaza. Thank you for standing beside orphaned children and widowed mothers during these challenging times. Your compassion is helping families meet their essential needs while preserving their dignity and independence.
