Our movement is based on our belief that we need exceptional leadership on different levels of the system to tackle the educational challenges in Colombia. Being part of this project means that you are helping us bring exceptional bilingual professionals to classrooms across Colombian regions. We provide training and guidance to these professionals over 2 years. Although Colombia has managed to make progress in education in the past few years, the country still has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to students from rural areas and from low-income families. To provide a proper education schools must include English into their programs, especially since Colombia ranks as #17 out of 20 countries in Latin America in terms of English skills, and 44% of students are below level A1 in English, which decreases their chances to fulfill students potential.
We have a unique, locally rooted but globally informed model, which has been successful in 61 countries. Our strategy is based on the belief that in Colombia we need exceptional leadership on different levels of the system, so that professionals, teachers, students and schools connect with the mission of improving education. We are working to bring more bilingual leaders to the classrooms, who support their students to develop their full potential.
We have been working for 11 years to build a social movement that one day will ensure that all children and young people in Colombia have access to a high-quality education that will allow them to develop their full potential. Today, we see that this vision is a priority that requires transformative solutions which are current and contextually relevant. We have reached 128,000 students by working with communities in 126 schools and 45 municipalities from different regions.
