In India, four states in the northern part of the country have been extensively affected by the flooding, affecting over 31 million people. Floods have devastated the lives of many people especially women who are tackling their menstruation in the worst condition, lack of unhygienic material can spread severe infection. This project is an urgent need for women and adolescent girls of flood-affected areas to prevent unhygienic practices and infectious disease.
Millions of people displaced and died in the floods in many parts of the India. It can potentially increase the transmission of the communicable diseases and increase the risk infections. Adolescent girls and women are the most suffering souls as they are facing natural calamity along with their monthly menstruation. Their health issues are at risk. These women and girls need basic hygiene supplies to combat infectious diseases.
This project will provide relief to the flood-affected women and adolescent girls in the form of Women's Hygiene Supplies Kit that includes sanitary pads, undergarments, vaginal wash, soap for washing and bathing, sets of toothbrush & toothpaste, towel, general medicines, dry eatables). The Kit will prevent with untimely disease and will prevent to spread infections.
Thousands of flood victim women and girls will get hygiene kits and menstrual hygiene supplies for their healthcare and well-being. The health of women and girls will improve and that will give impact on their future generation. Our focus for the long term will be on cleanliness drives, education support, women's health & hygiene and rebuild toilets, classrooms in the flood-affected areas.
