We’re happy to say that we are currently working with 12 survivors in the counties of Cluj and Alba in Northwest Romania. We have developed powerful partnerships, with public institutions, as well as national and international NGO’s in order to find the most suitable resources in order to meet the needs of our survivors. We are planning on transferring the program to another organization who is working solely on assisting victims of the human trafficking and who plans on opening a shelter for our survivors. This would be a wonderful opportunity to give an integrated approach in the struggle to rehabilitate the survivors and help them build a better life.

Some highlights of the previous reporting period are as follows:

  • 2 survivor received assistance in court hearing
  • 2 survivors received a paid lawyer
  • 1 survivor received legal advice and got his papers translated
  • 2 survivors and a baby received basic care of food
  • 1 survivor received hygiene training and products
  • 1 survivor benefited from training and a part time job in a coffee shop
  • 5 survivors received psychological counseling
  • 4 survivor received entrepreneurial counseling and monitoring for their ventures
  • 1 survivor received a hairdresser professional training

Thank you so much for all of your support. Each and every one of you is an integral part of the team working to help our survivor community access justice and claim their human rights.

If you’d like to continue regularly supporting this program, we encourage you to utilize the recurring donation option on our global giving project page. You’re monthly support would be very much appreciated. Engaging in human trafficking issues is extremely important, either in your own community or here in Romania.
