Together, we are turning ideas into action

Dear Friends of The Solidarity Project,

Because of your support, communities across rural Honduras are turning their ideas for a better future into action. This year, through our Mesa Comunitaria (Community Table) micro-grant program, we supported 11 community-led projects reaching approximately 10,000 people.

Our model puts resources directly in the hands of Honduran communities and leaders, allowing them to identify and lead projects that address their greatest needs and create meaningful impact.

Here is just a glimpse of what your support has made possible just in the past 3 months:

  • In Ocotal, we helped fund a stage for the local school, creating space for teaching, performances, and community gatherings. The school band, which began with instruments from an earlier Solidarity Project grant, has continued to grow—from a dream into an organized group!
  • In Talanga, we funded the second phase of an additional classroom and storage space for the local kindergarten, expanding the school's capacity and educational opportunities for young children.
  • In Majada Verde, we helped fund a covered soccer field, giving children a place to play and gather, rain or shine.
  • Through our rural health initiative, led by our board member Dra. Marcela, we reached 55 girls and their families through virtual and in-person workshops focused on menstrual health, education, and access to supplies.

These projects may look different, but they all share the same foundation: they began with communities identifying what they needed most. That's what makes the Mesa Comunitaria program so meaningful. We aren't bringing predetermined solutions to communities—we are supporting local leaders as they turn their own ideas into reality.

Help us keep the momentum going

We hope to raise $10,000 by the end of the year to support more community-led projects in Honduras in the coming year. Would you consider making a year-end donation to help us reach our goal?

Every contribution helps give communities the resources they need to create positive change on their own terms.

Thank you for believing in The Solidarity Project and for being part of this work.

Together, we are helping communities turn their dreams into action.

With gratitude,

Jean, Dra. Marcela, Carolyn, Melisa, David, and Rosi -  The Solidarity Project team
