We wish to sincerely thank GlobalGiving Foundation for giving us the opportunity to partner with them and to you our donors, we greatly appreciate your donations.
Dear donors, thank you for believing in us and finding this project worthy of your donation. With your support, we were able to visit Community Secondary School Oraifite and Nodos Secondary School Nnewi, in Anambra State, to sensitize the students on HIV/AIDS, the modes of HIV transmission and how they can prevent themselves from getting infected. For those who might be living with or affected by HIV, they were able to learn that living with HIV is not a death sentence, as the antiretroviral drug is there to sustain anyone who's living with the virus. The students were also thought about Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), so that in any case of exposure to HIV virus, maybe through needle prick or rape, they will report to an HIV clinic within 72 hours of exposure and receive support.
We intend to cover more secondary schools and the higher institutions, as schools reopens this January.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Billboard
We have constructed a billboard and now in the process of designing it's flex banner, which we want to place at a strategic location in Nnewi. We have met with the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency at their office in Nnewi North Local Government Area where our organization domiciles, to know the cost of placing a billboard on the road, and we were told that their fee is paid annually, meaning that if we had decided to pay and mount a billboard by the end of 2021, we will still pay for that of 2022 by April.
We are also considering designing our HIV/AIDS awareness flex banner and paying for it to be placed on already mounted roadside billboard, for the duration of time that we want, instead of constructing billboards which is very costly, so that billboard construction and mounting would be left for our sensitization in higher institutions, if the school permits us to mount a billboard.
We will continue to do our best in preventing new HIV infections and ending AIDS, as we look forward to more donations in order to keep delivering on this project.
Thank you so much for your generous support and remain blessed.
