Impact Of GlobalGiving Donations On Greening Uganda Schools
Dear PLANE Patrons
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the unwavering support you have shown toward our Greening Uganda Schools Project. Thanks to your generosity and passion that has helped us to make a big impact in the lives of Ugandans. We successfully planted over 4,850 trees, covered 26 schools, reached 16,250 children, and 286 teachers with information on environment conservation and tree planting and atleast 15 Environmental Clubs have been formed in schools.
We have also been able to print out posters that have education messages about climate change and and the value of tree planting were distributed to the children in schools.
The school environment conservation clubs were formed and were given poems about the importance of tree planting and environmental conservation which they recite and showcase during the parents day.
We are excited to inform you that the trees that we planted last year and in 2023 have grown and are doing well. We are pleased to report that they are thriving and contributing to the restoration of Uganda’s natural landscape and the beauty of the schools.
Uganda has two long rainy seasons (March-May and September- November. Using your funds that were donated to PLANE on GlobalGiving ,we were able to plant trees this April 2025 and we plan to plant more trees and cover more schools in September – November when we get rains.
Our goal is to plant one million trees in Uganda primary and secondary schools before we move to communities by 20230.
We have attached the report about the activities of the Greening Uganda Schools, the video is also attached. We thank you the PLANE Global Ambassadors for your generous support towads this Greening Uganda Project and other projects on globalgiving and PLANE promises the commitment and the zeal to ensure that every dollar donated does its intended project.
As we approach the planting season, PLANE needs your continued support to ensure the success of this project. Ongoing funding will be required for essential activities such as land preparation, organic fertilizers, transportation, and of course, the planting itself. Additionally, long-term care and maintenance will be critical to ensure the trees' continued growth and success.
