The GFR is a network of 11 refugee communities, individuals & professionals supporting asylum seekers, refugees & stateless persons. As a non-profit association, we rely on funding - therefore, we need your support to continue our actions of advocating for effective inclusion, networking, improving the refugees' quality of life, and supporting & empowering women and children through social programs and activities! For more information about our projects, visit our website: www.refugees.gr
Since the beginning of the year, the GFR has been reflecting on the need for refugees and migrants based in Greece to be better taken into consideration by policy-makers. This implies an increased awareness, understanding and interest from the refugees/migrants themselves in actively participating in the civic, political and social sphere of the country.
GFR is actively engaged in the following activities: Advocacy: contributing to the adoption of appropriate migration and asylum-related policies, both in Greece and at the EU levels; Awareness-raising: informing the citizens about the refugee situation in Greece and abroad in order to improve it, promoting the principles of multiculturalism and the right for refugees to equal participation; Rights protection: disclosing Human Rights violations and xenophobia
