The project aims at providing educational support to 10 girls' schools in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province, where more than 400 schools are damaged and situation is critical in Charsadda,Swat and Nowshera.
Education, the already suffering sector in the country experienced a huge loss, threatening to darken the lives of millions of children-especially girls- with illiteracy across the country. Even before the crisis, girl’s school attendance in many areas of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa was low with enrolment ratio in KPK just 12% which is now even lesser. Schools are lacking basic facilities like chairs, minor repairs, WASH facilities, whereas children are in need of uniform, bags and other items in bulk.
Providing Essential Classroom Elements,WASH(Water sanitation and Hygiene) facilities,Minor reconstruction,Library units and other necessities enables the restoration from calamity to home. The project also reduces stress through financial support.
The project has a lasting impact on providing psycho-social support to the most under-privileged communities suffered from natural and man-made calamities through providing adequate teaching & learning facilities at their doorsteps from harm to home.
