Support marginalised girls' education in Morocco

Dear supporters,

As another academic year comes to a close, we are delighted to share the achievements of the remarkable girls and young women you have helped support across Morocco, especially an incredible 96% pass rate for this year’s Baccalureate graduates.

Thanks to your generosity, this has been one of the biggest years of impact in Education For All Morocco's 18-year history. Across our projects, hundreds of girls have not only remained in education but have graduated from education, excelled, and opened doors to more independent futures and better opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities.
A record 543 girls are in full time education across all our projects, representing a 33% increase year-on-year.

EFAM supported girls have spent over 82,600 safe nights in boarding houses over the past year, while an estimated nearly 300,000 healthy meals have been provided. And it’s these comfortable, funded living environments that help them learn, develop, and achieve academic excellence.

Record Baccalaureate results 31% above national average
Our boarding houses in Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains continue to provide disadvantaged girls from remote communities with safe accommodation and access to education that would otherwise be out of reach.

We saw record number of girls graduating this year, with 93 girls passing their Baccalaureate, university and masters degrees.
Across the projects, girls undertaking their Baccalaureate achieved an outstanding 96% pass rate - 31 percentage points above the Moroccan national average of 65%. Simply incredible.

The university degree pass rate was 89% with 7 girls achieving university degrees and preparing to step onto the career ladder.
We are incredibly proud of this amazing result and wish every girl the very best for the next steps of her future.

Inclusive learning proves what’s possible
At our inclusive learning centre in Marrakech, we increased our intake for girls and young women with Down syndrome to 84, providing essential education, life skills and pathways into employment. We also built a brand new classroom for the centre which has enabled an increase in capacity.

Most significantly, two young women secured full-time employment at leading hotels in Marrakech - an important step towards greater independence and inclusion, and a testament to what can be achieved when opportunity replaces expectation.

100% pass rate in Rabat
Following the success of last year's pilot, our Rabat programme completed its first full academic year supporting highly disadvantaged girls, many of whom have experienced family breakdown, abandonment or homelessness.

We achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate for those girls who graduated and 7 girls have chosen to go on to university.

The size of the cohort for this academic year was 37 girls aged from 16-19 years old. We couldn’t be more proud of these girls and the future success and independence that lies ahead of them.
